What I absolutely love about wedding photography is catching the perfect moment and documenting my clients and their loved ones in the most beautiful and natural way possible. Embracing the environment, the mood, the weather, and more importantly, the dynamic energy! I strive to keep the day simple, fun, and stress-free. My goal is to capture beautiful images that will stand the test of time.
I am a science fiction geek and tech savvy guy that loves art. Ever since I was a kid, I loved expressing my stories through art. My journey through the fine arts started at the ripe age of 7 where I started to constantly draw portraits and landscapes of my surroundings. As I grew just a little older at the wise age of twelve, I began a love affair with photography and film. Yes, it was love at first sight…or first shot.
I picked up my father’s Canon AE-1 35mm film camera (a true classic!) and just started shooting! I didn’t stop. With my dad’s trusty camera (did I mention he was also a photographer?), I went to university and began to incorporate photography not only into my life of academia but also into business. Our family comes from a long line of artists and creative souls. For almost thirty years, our family owned an art gallery in the heart of Vienna, VA just outside of Washington D.C.. For over a decade, I spent many hours cultivating my creativity and skills alongside my father. I emerged from the gallery not only as a seasoned photographer but also as a custom-framer, graphic designer, art restorer and an artist. I was ready for the canvas of my next adventure.
Next stop – cinematography. I went to George Mason University enhancing my skills for my degree in film, video production and art visual technology. It was a lot of fun! It took all the skills I have cultivated throughout the years and brought everything full circle.
Since graduation, I focused full-time in photography and film. My assignments have been keeping me very happily busy between New York, Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia – globally as well to Europe, Canada, Middle East and beyond. Did I mention that I love to travel, too? There is just so much to capture everywhere and all the time!
“ I love sharing stories through film and photography because stories can be told in unique perspectives in so many ways.” – ILIA
